Tea is a big deal in the East. I believe it is becoming more and more of a thing in the West as well but I honestly was not into drinking tea before I moved abroad. There are Tea Shops and Tea Cafés on every corner. People pull up and honk their horns and someone scurries out to take their order. There are so many different ways to make tea that I never even considered. For instance, I would not have considered adding any sort of milk to tea in the past. Milk tea is extremely popular here. I like to add coconut, almond, or cashew milk in place of traditional diary milk.
Currently I am obsessed with Honey-bush Tea
Honey-bush tea is normally consumed with milk and sugar, but to appreciate the delicate sweet taste and flavor, no milk or sugar should be added. Descriptions of the flavor vary from that of hot apricot jam, floral, honey-like and dried fruit mix with the overall impression of sweetness. The tea has the added advantage that the cold infusion can also be used as iced tea and that it blends well with fruit juices.
Do you drink tea? If so what’s your current favorite? I’d love to hear so I can give it a try!
