INVESTING IN YOURSELF
How invested are you? Have you been investing your product, investing in your message, investing in your well being?
I’ve heard it said many times, I don’t have the money to invest in my dream right now, well that’s okay but your most valuable resources isn’t necessarily money. Investing in yourself can include time, research, energy, and self care.
Well Being: I’ll be the first to admit that I have often missed the mark when it comes to self investment. True story, an ex sent me a message on Facebook. He was saying hello and seeing how I was doing nothing major. Then he says, hey I have some photos can I share them with you. He proceeds to send me photos of him, his wife, and I believe 4 children. He looks extremely happy, she’s beautiful as are the children. I am happy for him. Immediately I begin to inventory my life in comparison to his and felt that I was lacking something. The funny thing is I don’t even desire to have more children 1 is plenty. As far as marriage I’m not hell bent on it but I’m not against it either. But the moment I compared my life with someone I could consider a peer I felt defeated. Listen, we must not do this to ourselves. This is detrimental to our well being. I knew better but still fell into the trap. Luckily I snapped out of it quickly.
Invest in your well being by taking care of yourself and apply Self-Love to your life daily. Take care of your mental, spiritual and physical health.
Message: Do you have a message that you believe the people need to hear? Invest in your message! If you don’t have the money to go all in that’s okay invest your time and perfect your message and the delivery of it, invest your energy and get your message out to the masses. Attitude or state of mind toward life determines the experiences we meet. Don’t let a lack of monetary resources stop you keep pushing.
Advertising online costs little to nothing and word of mouth advertisement goes far!
Product: I’ll keep this one short and sweet. If you provide a quality product with invested energy it will flourish. The same principles I mentioned before apply here. Remember everything we consider a necessity now started out as an idea, an idea that a creator, someone just like you turned into his or her reality.
Lastly, be open to listen to constructive criticism. Especially if you’re willing to put yourself and your message, product, service out for the world to see. At some point you are likely to receive criticism. If you can use it welcome it, grow and get better. If it doesn’t apply let it go it’s nothing.
