Look Your Best At Any Age
Listen, people are constantly surprised when they learn my age. Yes I represent Generation X and yes I have a 21 year old son. Surprised? LOL well, since I’m still getting carded and mistaken for a 25 year old I figured I would share some tips on how you can look your best at any age. Tip # 1
This tip may seem like common sense to some of you but I will tell you some people still don’t buy it. I am a living witness that healthy eating will help preserve your body as well as your mind. I have been a vegetarian since 1996. Even then I admit I wasn’t consistently making the best food choice as I did overindulge in junk food from time to time. For the past 5 years I have been strictly plant based!
I can proudly say that I have never been on medication of any type of illness despite the fact that high blood pressure, diabetes, and heart disease have all occurred within my immediate family.
Eating a plant based diet allows me to have increased energy, maintain a healthy weight, and consistent intestinal system. These are only a few of the benefits to plant based living!
Benefits of a Plant Based Diet:
Lowers blood pressure
Reduces the risk of heart disease
Did you know type 2 diabetes is preventable (regardless of your family history)
Weight Loss: helps you maintain a healthy weight
Fiber (keeps you regular)
Skin: Animal products are loaded with saturated fats, these types of fats are known for clogging pores.
Skin problems that can benefit from a plant based diet include
- Skin sensitivity
According to researchers from the University of St. Andrews in Scotland, steering clear of dairy products will help eliminate puffiness and bags under eyes. The research found that in addition to the wonderful vitamins and other nutrients a plant-based diet gives us a healthy glow in another way. For example, this type of diet is rich in fiber this is essential for proper digestion which is essential in detoxifying the body. A body that rids itself of toxins on daily basis can’t help but have a healthy glow.
Implementing monthly or bi monthly juice detoxing this is a great way to remove built up toxins and cleanse your body. You will feel and look great!
Drink Water! It is so so important that we drink the required amount of water each day. Unfortunately, coffee does not count lol..but seriously do your research and find out how much water you need to intake daily. This depends on your weight and level of activity.
What I’m basically saying here is that it all starts internally just like a house being built on a solid foundation. You can’t look and feel your best when you’re fighting sickness and disease.
