Recycling Sustainable Living
Part of sustainable living includes reusing items that you might usually discard. I love recycling and up-cycling items it gives me a chance to get creative and have some DIY fun. I tend to keep it simple. Last week I hosted an Instagram Takeover for NaturalAnnie Essentials and I showed this easy upcycle method using some of her Soy Candle jars. These jars are just way to beautiful and useful to toss out! I have soooo many uses for mine and cleaning them out is a breeze using the freeze method.
Once your soy candle has burned down and is just about empty, to the point that the flame doesn’t stay lit. Place jar in the freezer for at least 6 hours. I usually leave mine in overnight and I have not had any jars crack.
When the candle residue is frozen it is easier to remove!
Take a sharp object and break up the wax residue.
Don’t discard the residue save it to use in your oil burner.
Clean the Soy Candle jar with soap and warm water. Now it’s ready for reuse.
I decided to replant a piece of my Jade plant into the jar.
